Franklin Funds boards nominate independent

Franklin Templeton Investments is adding a new independent director to boards overseeing at least 130 Franklin Funds. Shareholders will vote on Monday morning on the nominations of several of the boards' current members and new director nominee Terrence Checki, former executive vice president of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.
