American Funds earns top stewardship grades

American Funds has been awarded the top Stewardship Grade by Morningstar, which looks at corporate culture, fund board quality, fund manager incentives, fees, and regulatory history. In its analysis of American Funds' business and culture, Morningstar points to the firm's improvements in transparency, the betterment of its bond business, and its willingness to embrace change.
