Editor's Note

November 25, 2015

From the Editor...

Like many of you, we're watching the clock in anticipation of the start of a long holiday weekend filled with family, friends and food. We're off on Friday, so we're sending you the bi-weekly email a little early—along with our best wishes for a wonderful and relaxing Thanksgiving.

In the short time since our last note, we've brought readers of Fund Board Views an interview with the new vice chairman of OppenheimerFunds' Denver board, Robert Malone, who will take over as independent chair next year when long-time director and current Chair Sam Freedman retires; details of a new guide to oversight of cybersecurity published by Mutual Fund Directors Forum; a look at gender parity efforts on corporate and fund boards; and a couple of Added Perspective items (Seven Myths of Boards of Directors and ISS 2016 Policy Updates). Our Added Perspective section is not behind a pay wall and is meant to be a resource for the industry; please let us know if what we're posting is useful or if there's anything you'd like to see more—or less—of.

Our In The Margins section also is not behind a pay wall and provides readers with aggregated news about the mutual fund business, governance, and other pertinent subjects. It's updated daily.

It's hard to believe that when we return from this holiday weekend, we'll be heading into the final stretch of the calendar year. It's been a big one for us with the launch of FBV, and we're excited to see what's in store in December (and beyond). Until then, enjoy whatever this weekend holds. Stay safe and give thanks for your blessings. Happy Turkey Day!

For now,

Hillary Jackson, founding editor, Fund Board Views
