It seems like every week there's news of another mutual fund provider planning to convert open-end funds to exchange-traded funds. We've been writing about this since 2019 and most recently gathered four industry professionals with hands-on experience with these conversions. Our Q&A with JPMorgan Funds' John Finn, Stradley Ronon's Bruce Leto, Ropes & Gray's Brian McCabe, and RBB Fund's Arnie Reichman is full of great insight and information. Don't miss it.

In other news, changes are afoot in the Charles Schwab Funds boardroom, which welcomed a new independent director last year and is asking shareholders to elect another new independent next month. The board has been in recruitment and succession planning mode for some time, as some long-serving members have reached the mandatory retirement age.

Meanwhile, in the Janus Henderson Funds boardroom, succession planning is also top of mind. Independent Chairman Bill McCalpin spoke with us exclusively about how board operations are beginning to return to normal, even while uncertainties related to board and c-suite personnel remain. Our one-on-one A Seat at the Table features bring readers inside the boardrooms of big and small fund complexes of all kinds and provide individual perspectives on board-specific and general industry topics.

We've also recently published our 10in10 ebook, a link to PwC's most recent mutual fund directors governance survey, a contributed piece on the new derivatives rule authored by a group of Stradley Ronon lawyers, an article on "pass-through" proxy voting, and more. Visit our website and have a look around if you missed these or any of our other stories—it's all on there!

For now,
