From the Editor...
Mutual fund boards are adapting to the current working environment and are, in most cases, busier than ever. Independent directors tell us they miss their fellow board members, but they also say that virtual board meetings are working out better than expected. Since not every board has met virtually yet and it's possible that the virtual board meeting model will be in place for a while, we've focused our most recent 10 Things... list to how directors can improve the experience. We have devoted a lot of space over the years to reporting on litigation around alleged violations of section 36(b) of the Investment Company Act of 1940, and we look forward each year to the summary of such activity provided by ICI Mutual in its Claims Trends report. On schedule, the newest report was released at the end of April and includes the latest data on active cases, industry wins, and new activity. Our story bottom lines it for you, so don't miss it.
Also on schedule, we've published our FBV Monthly of all our stories published in April. This downloadable PDF is meant to be an easy way for readers to catch up on what they might've missed and create their own reference library. We hope you enjoy it and find it useful, and we're always open to suggestions on making it better, so reach out. We're here.
