Fund, ETF investors send mixed signals

Investors in U.S. mutual funds and those in U.S. exchange-traded funds are sending mixed signals about the market's direction. Stock ETFs took in $3.9 billion in the week ended Wednesday, the largest inflow since April, but mutual fund investors pulled another $4.7 billion from stock funds in the same time period, their 12th straight week of cash withdrawals.
