Mellody Hobson to be No. 2 on Starbucks board

Mellody Hobson, president of Ariel Investments, will become vice chair of the Starbucks board of directors following the departure of Executive Chairman Howard Schultz later this month. She has been a member of Starbucks’ board since 2005 and also has served on the boards of Estée Lauder, DreamWorks Animation, and Groupon. Myron Ullman, the former CEO of J.C.
