DoL official backs out of conference following lawsuit

Labor Deputy Assistant Secretary Timothy Hauser abruptly backed out of a planned appearance at an Insured Retirement Institute conference, which took place Monday. He had been scheduled to be part of a panel on the fiduciary rule, but backed out late last week, after IRI joined a lawsuit seeking to vacate the rule. It's unclear whether Hauser's move was related to the lawsuit.
