Alts funds unhappy with SEC derivatives proposal

The growth of mutual funds that employ hedge fund-like investment strategies is threatened by regulators on the hunt for systemic risk. Managers of alternative mutual funds say the Securities and Exchange Commission's rule proposal on fund use of derivatives would force them to scale back their strategies dramatically.
