Proxy access spurs push for board diversity

More than 60% of S&P 500 companies have proxy access, and corporate governance professionals are anticipating a movement among investors who want to nominate a director to the board. In addition to investors calling for more diverse boards, New York City Comptroller Scott Stringer is getting involved. “Diversity isn’t a box to be checked; it’s a strategy for economic success,” Stringer said.
