May 10, 2017

By The New York Times

C. Jackson Grayson, a business school dean who was named by President Richard Nixon to oversee the nation’s first peacetime price control program, died on Thursday at his home in Houston. He was 93. Nixon’s price control effort began in 1971, when he was armed with congressional authority to curb runaway inflation, which had reached nearly 6% over all and even double digits for some goods.
