ETF firms, Wall Street discuss market turmoil

BlackRock, Vanguard Group and State Street are among the exchange-traded fund issuers holding talks with stock exchanges and market makers to discuss ways to avoid repeating the issues that plagues ETFs during the market turmoil on Aug. 24. The August day saw more than 1,000 trading halts—many in ETFs—as $1.2 trillion of U.S. market value was erased before prices partially recovered.
